These uninsulated mountain boots are constructed to get you there and back without you having to worry about your feet. Construction starts with full grain, nubuck leather uppers that provide a high level of support and are backed by waterproof, breathable Gore-Tex® to keep moisture out while allowing perspiration vapor to escape. (Gore-Tex® Stretch lines the heel area without any blister – or hot spot-causing seams.) Internal protection comes from the MFS® (Memory Foam System) that wraps your entire foot in a cushioning custom-like fit. There’s also an Air Active® Insole that provides a cushioned moisture-managing footbed that wicks perspiration away from your feet and distributes weight across the entire foot. Another thing we like in these hardcore hikers is the DiGAfix® lacing system that snugs the upper around your instep without creating pressure points, plus it locks your heel in place so there’s not friction-and blister-causing hotspots. Traction comes from the Meindl-exclusive Vibram® Multigriff Alpin rigid rubber grip outsole that provides a stable, secure walking platform, especially on the difficult terrain, thanks to aggressive, multi-directional lugs that grab and grip even on uneven terrain and in difficult conditions. These are all-terrain, four season hikers, fully capable of taking on the worst conditions. And they are crampon compatible if the going gets even tougher.
